Our youth and a few parents had so much fun learning how to decorate cookies. Thanks to the staff at Peace in Cupcakes in Carrollto.
Through our Youth Awareness and Safety (YAS) Program, we were able to provide some protein snacks and drinks to Temple High School Football Team. They have student athletes that plays more than football. Coach Nix and one of the football players received the donation. We will be partnering for future activities!

We had a wonderful time for our Youth Fun Day at Outrageous Mini Golf and Family Fun Center. Thanks to the owners for their awesome hospitality. We are very grateful. Thanks to Sam’s in Douglasville, Georgia for providing the grant for our Arts, Recreational and Culture (ARC) program so that we could make this possible.
We had a wonderful time at the True Colors Theatre Presentation of “Fannie: The Music and Life of Fannie Lou Hamer” at the Southwest Arts Center. Thanks to Arts in Community for this sponsorshi!
We had 17 youth and young adults, along with 4 adults that came out to help pack 300 packs. These “special deliveries“ are given to registered SLYC youth and other youth mainly in the counties of Carroll, Douglas and Paulding as well as a few in Tennessee and Florida.
It is about that time for our Summer Sweet and Snack Pack.
We had 8 families to attend the Skyhawks game for their Fan Appreciation night. It was so fun and our youth were thrilled.
Some of our families attended and enjoyed an afternoon of a live musical/play by the Alexander High School Arts Department. The Wiz was Amazing!
We represented at the College Park Skyhawks game tonight. Thanks to The Adellfoundation Georgia for the tickets. Everyone had a great time!

What is SLYC Out Week? It is our 2 year anniversary and we want you to help us celebrate, for this one week, by wearing your SLYC shirts, hats, other gear at different locations and posting the pictures on Facebook and Instagram.

We are partnering with New Canaan Baptist Church located at 185 Rome Street, Temple, Georgia on October 16th for Family Game Night from 4-8. There will be food, drinks, fellowship, door prizes and good old fashioned fun. This event will be held outside. So come on and spread the word!

Along with 7 of our youth, we packed 150 snack and sweet packs to give out to program and community youth before school starts. Thanks to all of those who donated towards this effort.
On Thursday, June 10th, we enjoyed a movie at Kayaneh’s Sunset Ranch. Ghazi and Cheyenne Muhammad are the owners of this awesome property! Great time.

On Saturday, July 11th at 2:00 pm, Walmart in Villa Rica, Ga. (located at 600 Carrollton Villa Rica Hwy.) will be presenting us a grant. Our youth and supporters will be there with their SLYC T-shirts on. Come out and celebrate with us.
We are also asking for those who attend to please wear a mas.

On July 10th, we provided an assortment of snacks and juice/drink to our youth during the summer break and throughout the COVID pandemic. Snacks consisted of a combination of chips, crackers, candy, fruit cup, cereal bars, and drink.

On Saturday, February 29th at the Douglas County High School (Douglasville, Ga.) from 11am-5pm, SLYC International will be a vendor at the Douglas County Black History Extravaganza sponsored by West Metro NAACP.
Leh’Chim Cakes will be providing cakes for a SLYC International fundraiser and the cost for each slice will be $3 or 2 slices for $5. A portion of the proceeds will go to SLYC International and the West Metro NAACP.

On Wednesday, November 27th from 11:30am-3:00 pm, SLYC will be participating in the Grace Community Fellowship Church’s Annual Thanksgiving Eve Outreach Event located at 425 Wendell Drive, Atlanta, Ga. Come out for free clothing, medical screenings, food, games, and fellowship.
